081422-“Love Your Enemies”...Matthew 5:43-48...
Matthew 5:38-42...“You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. For He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing out of the ordinary? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

John 3:16...“For God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

1 John 4:7,8...“Dear friends, let us LOVE one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

Matthew 5:43,44...“You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor & hate your enemy. But I tell you, LOVE your enemies…”

Sermon In A Sentence: The proof that your love for God is genuine can’t be observed during a church worship service; but in loving your enemies.

1 Corinthians 13:1...“If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have LOVE, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”

Romans 2:4...“Or do you presume on the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”

Jesus Teaches Us:

-To love others by greeting them (v.47)

Matthew 5:43 ...“You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor & hate your enemy…”

Leviticus 19:18...“You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.”

Exodus 23:4,5..."If you come across your enemy’s stray ox or donkey, you must return it to him. If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.”

Romans 13:1-2...“Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God. So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.”

1 Timothy 2:1-2...“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Matthew 7:12...“Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them— this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Ephesians 6:12...“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
