Pastor Terry Embke

Pastor Terry Embke began his ministry as our Senior Pastor on May 1, 2003. He comes to Morningside Bible Church after serving 19 years as an Assistant Pastor at the Littleton Baptist Church in Denver, CO. His experience includes 7 ½ years as a Youth Pastor and 11 ½ years as an Adult Ministries Pastor.

He came to Christ as a 13 year old boy, graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in 1980 and married his wife, Sara, in December 1982. They have been blessed with 4 children: Kyle, Tyler, Kayla, and Brianna.

Pastor Terry has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God and sharing his faith with anyone who will listen. Lord willing, he plans to serve the Morningside Bible Church as Senior Pastor for many years! His goal for the church is to train people to lead the various ministries of the church and take "ownership" of these ministries.

Pastor Terry's vision and goal for our church is that: "We want Morningside Bible Church to be a clinic that meets the needs of hurting souls."

Youth Ministry Leader-Odin dart

Odin and Kayla have 2 boys, Thorin and Jamison, who are 2 1/2 and 6 months respectively. He leads the youth in Wednesday nights meetings from 6:30-7:45 where they have worship music, a gospel centered message, food and usually games or hang out time.

Saved when he was 5, he started to get more serious in his faith when he began to date Kayla back in 2011. His goals with the youth are to help them grow into spiritually mature adults.

Char graduated from Northwestern College with her BA in business.  She has been happily married to Curtis Mastbergen for 32 years.  God has blessed them with 5 children.  Their daughter Laura is married to Tim Hannemann and they live in Minneapolis.  Nathan, their oldest son, will be getting married 2017 and he and his bride Megan will make their home in Pella, IA where he will teach high-school English. David lives in Sioux City and is an accountant.  Joe will be a junior and Lily will be a freshman at Siouxland Christian School fall of 2017. 

The Mastbergens have been a part of Morningside Bible Church for since 1999.  Char has served as the financial secretary since 2005.  She also has been involved in the Awana program since 2000 and loves to teach God’s word to the next generation.
