111724...I Hated Life...Ecclesiastes 2:12-17

“Let those who love the Lord hate evil” ...Psalm 97:10

“Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” ...Romans 12:9

“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech“ ...Proverbs 8:13

“I hate and detest falsehood but I love your law” ...Psalm 119:163

Ecclesiastes 2:17...“So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me, for all is vanity and a striving after wind”

Ecclesiastes 2:12-17...“So I turned to consider wisdom and madness and folly. For what can the man do who comes after the king? Only what has already been done. Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly, as there is more gain in light than in darkness. The wise person has his eyes in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I perceived that the same event happens to all of them. Then I said in my heart, ‘What happens to the fool will happen to me also. Why then have I been so very wise?’ And I said in my heart that this also is vanity. For of the wise as of the fool there is no enduring remembrance, seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. How the wise dies just like the fool! So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me, for all is vanity and a striving after wind”

Romans 5:12...“Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned."

Solomon Hated Life In A Broken World:
-Because living wisely doesn’t guarantee success
-Because life doesn’t offer an even playing field

Ecclesiastes 8:14...“There is a vanity that takes place on earth, that there are righteous people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I said that this also is vanity.”

Romans 12:19...“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’”

Psalm 119:71...“It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.”

Psalm 89:14...“Righteousness & justice are the foundation of your throne! Steadfast love & faithfulness go before You!”

Solomon Hated Life In A Broken World:
-Because living wisely doesn’t guarantee success
-Because life doesn’t offer an even playing field
-Because the wise are not always rewarded
-Because the fool is not always punished

Ecclesiastes 9:14-15...“There was a little city with few men in it, and a great king came against it and besieged it, building great siegeworks against it. But there was found in it a poor, wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man.”

Solomon Hated Life In A Broken World:
-Because living wisely doesn’t guarantee success
-Because life doesn’t offer an even playing field
-Because the wise are not always rewarded
-Because the fool is not always punished
-Because both the wise & the fool will die
-Because both the wise & the fool are forgotten

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14...“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether
good or evil.” (NKJV)

Sermon In A Sentence: It is the wisdom from God that hates sin and
the broken world it leaves in it’s wake.
