Genesis 1:1...“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Sermon In A Sentence: Our spiritual transformation requires that we humble ourselves, admit that we’re not in control, and that we find our identity in the One who created us.
“Nothing is more humbling than acknowledging God’s existence. The first four words of the Bible, ‘In the beginning, God,’ put us in our place. We didn’t start things, we don’t control them, the world doesn’t function according to our plans, we don’t know what’s coming next, and we wouldn’t know who we are & what we’re supposed to be doing if it were not for the Creator” —Paul David Tripp
“In The Beginning God” Declares That:
-God existed before everything that exists

Isaiah 45:5...“What pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons”
“In The Beginning God” Declares That:
-God existed before everything that exists
-God created everything that exists
-God does not need anything that exists
Acts 17:24-25...“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.”
Isaiah 41:13...“For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you.’”
Proverbs 3:5...“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
“In The Beginning God” Declares That:

Colossians 1:17...“And he (Jesus) is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
“In The Beginning God” Declares That:
-God existed before everything that exists
-God created everything that exists
-God does not need anything that exists
-God sustains everything that exists
-God is sovereign over everything that exists
Job 42:2...“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
Isaiah 46:10...“Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.’”

Hebrews 11:6...“Without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
Sermon In A Sentence: Our spiritual transformation requires that we humble ourselves, admit that we’re not in control, and that we find our identity in the One who created us.
