051423...“Giving Thanks”... Colossians 1:12-14

Colossians 1:12-14...“Giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.”

Every Day, Thank God Our Father:
-For the eternal inheritance He’s given us
-For rescuing us from the domain of darkness
-For transferring us into Jesus’ kingdom
-For redeeming us and forgiving our sin

Romans 1...
-V.28 “…did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.”
-V.29-31 “…filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.”

Romans 1...
-V.21 “…because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful…” (NKJV)

1 Thessalonians 5:8...“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

“Key Verse” In Colossians...“I am saying this so that no one will deceive you with persuasive arguments.” -Chapter 2, verse 4

1 Peter 3:15-16...“Be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. However, do this with gentleness and respect.”

Every Day, Thank God Our Father:
-For the eternal inheritance He’s given us
-For rescuing us from the domain of darkness
-For transferring us into Jesus’ kingdom
-For redeeming us and forgiving our sin

Ephesians 1:11...“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.”

Philippians 4:6-7...“Do not be anxious about anything, ... but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Sermon In A Sentence: Since nothing in us could move God to save us, it is only reasonable that we regularly thank Him for rescuing us anyway.
