112022-“Are You The One?”... Luke 7:18-23

“Prone to wander, Lord I feel it, Prone to leave, the God I love” -From the Hymn: Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing

The Definition of Doubt:“A mental struggle to believe that something is true”

Luke 7:18-23...“Then John’s disciples told him about all these things. John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, asking, ‘Are You the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?’ When the men reached Him, they said, ‘John the Baptist sent us to ask You, ‘Are You the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?’” At that time Jesus healed many people of diseases, plagues, and evil spirits, and He granted sight to many blind people. He replied to them, ‘Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news. And anyone who is not offended because of Me is blessed.’”

Sermon In A Sentence: Be thankful for how blessed we are that we
can take every doubt to Jesus & He answers us.

Psalm 103:13-14...“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust.”

Doubts Can Arise In Our Hearts:
-When God doesn’t meet our expectations
-When God doesn’t remove negative circumstances
-When God’s Word is not consulted
-When God’s Work all around us is overlooked

Exodus 6:9...“Moses told this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their broken spirit and hard labor”

Ephesians 1:19-20...“And what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places”

1 Thessalonians 5:18...“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

Psalm 46...
V.1 “God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble”
V.2 “Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas.”
